What a better way to explore the beauty of a country than taking a road trip! At some point in your life you have probably thought about taking a road trip across your country, but it never seems possible to plan the perfect one. There’s always some point of interest that gets lost in the shuffle or a boring route taken rather than a more interesting one.

Luckily, if you live in the U.S., the ultimate American road trip was planned by Discovery News and Randy Olson (Sc.D. candidate at Michigan State University), by using a highly sophisticated algorithm. It’s a US road-trip map that tells us exactly where to go and how to see every important landmark in each of the 48 continental states.

The map shows 50 major national landmarks, national historic sites, national parks and national monuments to visit on the road trip.
So ,all you have to do is get your friends together and drive.

If you actually plan to start this trip, think that you should drive for about 13,699 miles, this means about 224 hours. But if you are willing to do the trip in one go would take about 9.33 days, although Olson believes it would actually take 2–3 months to finish it in reality.
